Buried

The red fungus wasn't the only experiment done down here... or the worst.

1
You've seen several piles of bones and some ominous tally marks, but Bakari says these caves are your only hope. Red Scorpion Base is ruthless and paranoid, believing themselves to be the last outpost of America in the world. You desperately need to make sure that the panacea makes it out. There should be exits to the surface, close to a hidden cache of supplies, and a map to a motorboat that can take you back to the Maghreb republic. Janine worries that the tunnels are unstable and Bakari's leg is getting worse. There's a loud rumbling, which shakes the cave. Bakari says that the red fungus wasn't the only thing down here. Keep quiet and run!
2
Bakari claims that he sided with Sigrid to protect Janine and Tom and that he always did his best to take care of them. Janine replies that he packed them off to boarding school at every opportunity and did not try to warn them about Sigrid. Something breaks through the ceiling behind you, and lunges for you. It's slithering through the wall. Run!
3
Two more of the snake-things break through the ceiling ahead. You and Peter use a couple of concussion grenades to destroy them, covering yourself in gore in the process. Bakari says that will buy you time, but not much.
4
More tally marks on the rock, and a section of a rock that looks suspiciously alive. Bakari tells you it was one of the experiments conducted on the base. They made a burrowing creature to attack entrenched outposts, but it couldn't be controlled so it was just tossed out and left to grow. Peter is sure that it's the work of Van Ark, and says that he still has nightmares where the injections turn him into a horrible creature like that. It pulls animals from the surface to devour them. Unfortunately, the tunnel follows alongside where the creature is.
5
Peter notices that some of the creature's scales are actually fingernails. Bakari says that the creature absorbs prey and adopts random traits from it. Up ahead you see a body with tendrils wrapped around it, and Bakari recognises it as Triple Five. The base dumps bodies down here, but he thinks Triple Five must have been alive. You narrowly escape tendrils when Janine shoots at them, but she says that they were aiming for Bakari. You spot an opening in the tunnel that leads away from the creature. Head that way!
6
The tendrils keep breaking through the walls as you run, all aiming for Bakari. Janine thinks that the creature might have inherited a grudge against him from Triple Five after they were abandoned by Bakari. He did the same when Tom was left in Algeria – Bakari never chose honestly with them. The tendrils ahead are merging together, and forming a human face. The face of Triple Five!
7
Peter stops you before you run into the mass of tendrils poking through the ground ahead. They're all around you! Bakari takes one the of the propane canisters from your bag. A good spark should set it alight – you can blow a hole in the wall of flesh to escape through. But the tendrils have a layer of scales and chitin, so the explosion needs to come from inside. Bakari will let it grab him and start to absorb him. He quickly tells Janine that he hadn't meant to control her and Tom, but he was always a military brat and didn't know how to deal with children. Getting the panacea and data out will be his apology. He tells Janine that he is proud of her, then runs into the flesh wall. There's an explosion that leaves a hole big enough for you to escape.
8
You seem to have escaped the flesh creature and can slow down a little. Peter tries to comfort Janine. She acknowledges that Bakari cared about her and Tom, but it doesn't excuse the things he did. Your focus needs to be on escaping the tunnels with the panacea and data from the base.
