Duffy wakes you saying that the electromagnetic storm that took the Minerva ten years ago has been sighted and you're going after it. You lost a couple of drones on the last op so the hive mind is suffering a bit. You'll need to decouple the reactors, and then Circuit has to reboot the computers to assess damage. As you set off, Eats wonders why Duffy didn't call this into Solfleet before sending you in.

Your shuttle nearly got destroyed by space lightning, but you've made it onto the Minerva. The ship is struggling to keep the lights and gravity consistent, so move carefully. Duffy contacts you privately and says that there must have been a bomb on board the shuttle from some of the damage, and if that's the case, it was set by one of your crew. On board the Minerva, you find a garden near the reactors growing food. Duffy seems familiar with the captain, Nia Mallory, and says she must have done that because the Minerva did not have ten years of food on board. Eats spots a lot of markers on the walls that look to be counting days, and it looks like whoever drew them is still alive! Circuit decouples the reactor, and suddenly the area you're in decompresses and you barely manage to hold on. Control says that they and Circuit have been sucked out and you need to catch them!

You send the drones to get Circuit, while you and Eats head after Control. Eats manages to grab hold of Control who isn't sure what caused the explosions. Circuit returns with the drones and says it must have been a faulty reactor. But they did get the reactors decoupled. You make it along the hull to the location of the computer core, and head inside, leaving the remaining drones to fix the airlock while Control and Circuit reboot the computer. Duffy tries to contact you and Eats privately, but loses signal. Captain Mallory of the Minerva makes an announcement and demands that you identify yourself. Circuit says that she is under arrest for war crimes, theft and conspiracy. Control objects, but Circuit says that they have their orders, and shoots Control.

Circuit was a plant, and has reprogrammed some of the drones, which are now fighting amongst themselves. You manage to get back in contact with Duffy and explain the situation. Duffy guides you to Mallory's location and Mallory demands to speak to Duffy, who is just as excited to speak to her. Duffy detects a massive electromagnetic spike pointed at the Minerva's reactor, and Mallory says it's a secret military weapon. Circuit has painted you as a target and is trying to destroy the Minerva!

Mallory explains that Solfleet wanted to conquer alien races, and that is why the Minerva went dark. She takes you back to the computer core where she's made some changes that Circuit won't expect. You hear Circuit talking to her commanders. Circuit opens the airlock to try to sweep you out, and you tackle Circuit out of the airlock instead, and Eats and the drones drag you back via your tether, leaving Circuit to float in the void.

You meet up with Control who managed to survive, and head to the engine room. Mallory has made a few changes to the systems with the help of some friends. The experimental weapon fires and goes straight through the ship. How do you feel about abandoning Solfleet and becoming a pirate?

Duffy wakes you and Eats up with a new job. You've received a distress signal from an old orbital power generator. It had been sold off by JoveCorp for housing but there were accidents there. You'll be going with Eats and Circuit, as well as the drones, and be prepared for trouble.

You're making good progress, but Circuit reveals that you're wearing an old suit which won't allow transmissions in this sort of environment. Duffy receives a new transmission, something about plasma vents, and you don't have time to reaction before the drones life you out of harm's way.

You're only a little singed. Circuit explains that the plasma venting at frequent intervals was part of the reason the station was shut down. The drones inform you that the next venting will occur in about two minutes. Duffy believes that the power readings are being triggered manually by the victim. There's also a second reading which is someone hacking into the station remotely and triggering a reactor overclock. You're not alone up here, and things are going to get worse.

Duffy tells you that the station systems are not responding, and long-range comms are offline. From here on it's combat footing, and you need to get to the victim. Suddenly a transmission breaks through to your comms, warning you to get away from the vents. Get moving!

You managed to get away although a couple of the drones took a bit of damage. You receive a signal in morse code from the victim, Marisol, who gives her location and says that the station will soon explode. Duffy informs you that Marisol was the Union organiser and was listed as killed in an accident two hours ago! Over the comms you hear a transmission from a JoveCorp combat drone threatening you. You need to run!

You've lost connection to Duffy. Circuit suggests that the group split up to lead the war drones away while you go and rescue Marisol. Don't die!

You manage to find Mariso and she explains that the company is planning to blow up the station, blame it on the union, and then collect the insurance. Duffy comes back on comms and says that the war drones are no longer a problem. Time to get back to the ship!

Eats wonder what such an old shuttle was doing this deep in the Boneyard. You enter through a hole in the hull. East doesn't register any survivors, but it looks like life support is still working on the other side of the airlock. Time to get to work.

The shuttle is huge, but Duffy says that it apparently had only had a skeleton crew of three people. Duffy seems to be hiding something from you, and tells you to just bring the crew home. The drones sense a life sign and it seems agitated. You head through the next door and find the room trashed. There's a man standing outside an occupied stasis pod. Duffy tells you that's Peter Cassidy. Cassidy says that he won't go back, and then comes after you with a knife.

You lose Cassidy and hide in the ship's kitchen where you are confronted by Kurokawa, the ship's Control. They tell you that Cassidy had lost it a week ago, and the struggle caused the ship to crash. A drone notifies you that one life-sign has left the ship. Control says it's probably Cassidy trying to steal your shuttle. You can run through the ring of debris to try to catch him.

Duffy needs you to do one more thing; Cassidy has something that you need to recover, and you can't let it fall into the wrong hands. Control has a short-cut in mind for you.

If you jump from the hull, inertia will carry you straight to the shuttle, and you should be able to beat Cassidy there. Eats is uncertain because of the lack of a tether, but Control insists that it's the only way. You release you mag-boots, and manage to make it across open space to the shuttle, just in time to catch Cassidy. You try to get the data off him, but he jumps into space rather than give it up. And worse news! Eats missed the landing.

Eats is still out of reach and your suit is going to run out of air soon. Duffy suggests turning back so you don't lose two crew members. Thinking quickly, you separate one of the drones from the swarm and throw it to Eats. The drone manages to drag Eats back towards you when it tries to return to the others. Duffy worries about the efficacy of the drone swarm, but they seem to have taken a liking to Eats. You'd better get back to the shuttle quickly though.

You make it back to the shuttle and close the airlock. You can remove your space suit. Control is welcomed to the team, and says that she has a copy of the data that Cassidy took. Eats demands to know why she didn't say that earlier, and Control explains that Cassidy was listening in and they couldn't risk him sending the data to anyone else. Eats demands answers considering you're all going to be working together. Control shows you some of the documents, much of which is redacted. It seems to be about a ship called the Minerva, which vanished in a possible first contact situation.

Welcome to Solfleet! A routine salvage mission to a debris field reveals more than you bargained for and threatens to turn deadly. 

Banquo Orbit 5K

You're out sledding a long way from town with an experienced musher. There's only a few weeks before you move out of town and you're giving the dogs a good run. He tells you about another experienced musher, Michael, who has gone missing recently. Up ahead is a trapper's cabin and some tracks in the snow, which you go to check out. There's an eerie sound on the wind.

The tracks were definitely made by a dog sled, and recently. A dog emerges from the tree line barking – it's chewed through its harness. The dog runs along the trail and the musher says you should follow. Hurry!

New Prints

The dog leads you to another sled with dogs still harnessed. The sled is well-stocked so whoever was mushing wouldn't have needed to stop to hunt. There are footprints leading away up the hill and it feels like you're being watched. You take some provisions from the sled and follow the prints, bringing along the dog that found you.

The prints lead to the old trapper cabin. The dog refuses to approach, lying down in the snow. You can't see anything obvious through the windows, but set off to explore the outside of the cabin just to be sure. The tracks only lead to the cabin, not away. More strange humming is carried on the air.

Well, either the person who made the prints is in the cabin or they flew away. Could it be Michael, the missing musher? When you enter the cabin it's clear it hasn't been used in a long time but the humming gets louder. You find a strange staircase and thankfully the lightbulb above it still works, even though there's no generator. You descend.

The staircase is far longer that you expected, but you finally reach the bottom where a fire is burning. The firelight is low, but there's a figure here that looks like Michael. The musher tries to wake him, but his eyes are open and he doesn't have a pulse. The musher notices other figures around the edge of the room – were they there before? Their gear is of varying styles, like they're from different times. When you both investigate, one of the figures crumbles like it's been there for decades. You begin to flee, but the musher is suddenly captivated by the fire and wants to stay. You insist you both leave and climb the stairs together.

These stairs go on forever, and something in the fire-lit room doesn't want you to leave. The musher keeps being tempted back but manages to tear himself away and you reach the top of the stairs. Was the fire lit before? It's so cosy and that voice is so lovely – maybe you should settle in for a while... The dog barking from outside breaks the trance and you both manage to haul yourselves outside.

You'll take Michael's sled back to town – he won't be needing it. You'll say you found no sign of him. There was something rotten in that cabin and the people in town will understand. Quick, get out of there.

There's a musher missing and something strange in the old trapper cabin. Will you make it out?

You get your first look at Mt. Archie, and River, one of the volcanologists you're working for, points out a fallen tree over the road ahead. River tells you to grab a radio from the car so you can keep talking. River says they've been keeping an eye on Mr. Archice because the volcano is threatening to erupt. You will be helping the volcanologists to collect data, and taking care of the two remote stations which have stopped transmitting.

You're a kilometer from Station 17. River says that the volcano has been making lots of seismic noise recently, causing lots of little earthquake clusters, but don't worry! You're not on imminent volcanic hazard alert right now. You cross over a stream and realise the air is starting to smell bad - that's the sulphur from the volcano. Hurry up, you're nearly there!

You reach Station 17 and River guides you through checking the equipment. There's a portable seismometer that lets the team work out the location of the earthquakes, and a tiltmeter which tells the team if magma is building up underground. Everything looks good, and when you reset the satellite transmitter, the station comes back online. Now to check Station 18!

You feel a rumbling and a branch falls in the wood ahead of you. River says that the earthquake was about a 5.0 magnitude, and th aftershocks will be smaller. You need to hurry to Station 18 because it's monitoring one of Mt. Archie's vents.

You see a helicopter overhead. River says that it's doing some thermal imaging. But the trees are too thick for it to pick you up so you'll need to keep running instead of getting a lift.

You reach Station 18 which is a bit more advanced in terms of set-up. You check on the thermal imaging camera, and the Correlation Spectrometer, which senses the amount of sulphur dioxide the volcano is releasing. The more suphur, the closer an eruption is to occuring. You try to find the satellite transmitter, but it's gone missing. You'd better look around for it!

You find the transmitter and reset it, bringing the station back online. Everything seems to be working normally, but River will probably have you come back out to the station tomorrow to bolt the transmitter back down. You should head back to camp. Dessert is nearly ready!

Set out on your first assignment as "Technical Intern", gathering data on Mt. Archie for a team of volcanologists in this 5k run!

It's early morning and you're starting the day at Station 18, fixing the satellite transmitter. River points out how lovely the view is, but all is not okay. River tells you to run back to the jeep. The COSPEC is detecting a sulfur dioxide spike. But it's probably nothing. As you head back, you hear an explosion. Mt. Archie is erupting! You'd better get running.

River manages to contact you over the radio again. You need to get back to the jeep quickly. Thankfully the eruption was on the other side of the mountain to you; even you couldn't outrun the pyroclastic flow! But you're still a kilometer up the slope of an erupting volcano and there's more trouble ahead.

You're almost at the jeep, but there's bad news. The blast from the eruption knocked down a lot of trees, and one of them crushed the jeep. The column of ash from the eruption means they can't send the helicopter to pick you up either, but River has an idea. You hear the boom of volcanic lightning, and River tells you that while they can't get a jeep out to your position, if you can make it a few kilometers down the road, they'll be able to pick you up.

You're about a kilometer from the stream, but River is having trouble seeing you through the ash. You narrowly avoid being crushed by volcanic bombs - magma that hardens into rocks as it falls - and they're followed by more ash. You cover your mouth with a bandana to avoid breathing in the volcanic glass that makes up most of the ash. You're on track, and a little less than halfway to the road.  Keep going!

The stream is clogged with ash when you reach it, very unpleasant to cross, but essential. River is worried about the snowcap on the mountain melting from the heat. There's another earthquake. The vent nearest to you has erupted and the snow has melted. There's a boiling mudslide - a lahar -- heading your way at 140km an hour. They follow existing drainage routes, so you need to get out of the stream and onto higher group quickly. Run!

The lahar sweeps away all the trees on the slop, but you're safe! River promises that you will never have to buy yourself another drink as long as you get out of this alive. Your route ahead looks relatively clear. You're about 5km from the road, but the ash is only going to get deeper so you'd better hurry.

You head coughing ahead, and a cry for help, and head towards it. Tyler explains that they were out camping and got caught out by the eruption. River is unimpressed, since there were signs saying the trail was closed because of the eruption hazard. You give Tyler a bandanna, and River says that there is room in the rescue jeep for both of you, but yu need to keep running. The air is getting hotter.

The air is getting unbearably hot, and River can't see anything because of the ash in the air. Whatif you're going in the wrong direction? Tyler remembers that they brought a compass, and River gives you the bearings to head for to reach the road. The thick ash is making it difficult to move quickly though, but you're nearly there.

Tyler says that it seems to be getting lighter behind you. River explains that that isn't a good thing. A nearby vent has opened up, and there's lava heading your way. It can't move quickly, but it is setting the trees on fire. Tyler says that it's a bit like being chase by a zombie in a movie, but as long as you keep running you should be able to outrun it.

Another earthquake throws you off balance, and Tyler sprains their ankle. You'll have to support them over the last kilometer until you reach the road.

Tyler looks back and realises that the lava is gaining on you. The horizon is lit up like a fire, and it's getting even hotter. Tyler suggests leaving them and going ahead, but River tells you to keep going. You're going to make it!

You reach the road and spot headlights. River is there with the jeep and helps you into it. You set off towards the observatory, and there you can take a shower and Tyler will be taken to the hospital. You survived the volcano! Your reward? Probably doing spreadsheets. There's a lot of data to collect and plenty to learn.

I just completed the Volcano Race 10k! Can you outrun an exploding volcano?

When you joined the Mt. Archie Volcanic Observatory, you thought it'd be an easy routine – but now the tremors have begun, and it's a 10k race for your life!

You've got incoming travellers through the gate – must be Bright Eyes. You head into the corridor and find the base inhabitants slaughtered. The Bright Eyes are after you, horribly mutated with talons and backward joints. Jody says that you must fix this or Titan will just be the start. She has an idea, but needs a few more minutes. Get moving!

You enter a room full of holo-screens and close the blast doors behind you. The cameras show Bright Eyes all over the base. Jody still has ANNETTE's memory core. The AI wanted to tell you something back on Carousel base, so Jody uploads her. You hear ANNETTE's last message and Jody figures out what she meant. You need to reach the hydrocarbon stores under the base. Methane combusts when mixed with an oxidiser. Valmont tries to persuade her that destroying the base won't destroy the gates, but Jody says Valmont claimed he trusted her instincts so he needs to prove it.

There are Pandora Haze ships approaching. You need to do this quickly. Jody says her mum developed cancer just after she started working at Valmont Interplanetary. To pay the bills, Jody siphoned off a lot of money. She was caught but Valmont stepped in, and when someone does that, you want to believe they're good. You reach the methane tanks, but cameras show a lot of Bright Eyes on the far side of the bay. You open the valves on the tanks and let the methane out, depriving the Bright Eyes of their food source! Next stop is the air recycler. Run!

Jody sets the air recycler to spread the methane through the base. It'll mix with the oxygen supply. You plug ANNETTE's drive into the computer and give her control. ANNETTE says exploding the base should destroy the gates there and she can transmit the explosion to the other gates across the system. She knew it could be done, but her plan had been to contain and cure. She is not the cruel AI of Venus. There's a gateway in the Fabrication Bay that you can use to escape off-world. The computer ANNETTE is in will explode soon and set off the methane. Head to the bay!

You enter the Fabrication Bay, but Valmont is already there in one of the loader mechs. He isn't trying to defend the gates, but he wants to blame the incident on Pandora Haze. You could say that they attacked you, sue them, and then you'll be rich! He just needs to get his witnesses in order. He says you've been a bad influence on Jody so he tries to persuade her to abandon you and help in his plan. Jody speaks to you in secret by vibrating your helmet and tells you to trust her. She pretends to agree with Valmont, but the Bright Eyes come through the gate and drag Valmont through. Unfortunately, he smashed the gate controls before he was taken. Jody doubts you can escape the explosion, but you might be able to escape being torn apart by the Bright Eyes.

You follow the landing strip away from the base. The Bright Eyes are all over the base now. Jody says that Valmont had a theory that if you ran fast enough in this gravity, the momentum would carry you up and let you glide. He built wings into your suits. She doesn't think it works, but what the hell? It's your only chance. Charge!

It's working! You're flying! The base explodes and you angle towards the ground. The space elevator crashes down. They're all gone! You're still going to die out here, but you saved the world again. You hear a voice over your comms. It's Captain Myers! There are ships landing. Head towards them!

Guards drag Jody away. Maxine thanks you for taking care of the competition. You're back with Pandora Haze – where you belong.
