On the trail of a thief, but who's on your trail?

You, Sam, Janine, and Mo are on a mission. You can see the salt lake of Chott el Djerid on the horizon. Mo explains that he's not allowed in New Agadir because he was hired to transport a valuable item, but it was stolen from him and the owner of the item, Skull-Kicker, holds Mo responsible. Skull-Kicker runs much of the criminal underworld in New Agadir so you'll need their approval to get inside. Mo shot the thief with a tracking device and you'll be able to find them when the city's satellite passes overhead.

The lake is blood red. Mo tells you it's because of a giant, while Janine has a more scientific explanation. Mo says that his family are travelling with nomads for safety and only pass through once a year. Sam spots a lot of statues in the lake and Mo explains that they are the dead encased in salt. Once a year the lake liquefies enough for them to get free. He's found the thief's location and it looks like they're in the Roman ruins.

You reach the ruins and Mo points out the beautiful mosaics, including one of a holy woman and her wolf familiar. You split up to confront the thief, but they aren't there! Veronica pipes up that there are some older tombs beneath you and the thief may be there. She has acquired plans of the tombs, but you'll have to move quickly so the thief doesn't escape.

The tombs are very dark, but Veronica says you're getting close to the central chamber where the thief is. The corridor you're in is full of tombs cut into the rock, with many statues of Ba'al Hammon. You reach the central chamber and spot a figure in the shadows, which you approach slowly. You prepare to grab them, but realise it's a zombie! You'll need to run to the other side of the chamber to meet Janine.

You've found the thief's horde! It looks like the thief planted the tracker on the zombie to throw you off. Mo kills the zombie with a sword, but points out that it was a salt lake zombie and shouldn't be moving for another fortnight. You need to hurry or you'll never make it back to New Agadir. There are some pipes that lead up to the Roman baths and you should be able to intercept him above. Hurry!

You reach the opening to the pipes in time to catch the thief. Mo talks to them, calling them Medhi – Mo raised him as his own child. He retrieves the gold dentures that Medhi stole. Through the columns you see that the dead have started to rise. Mo explains that you'll have to hurry to New Agadir. They raise their defences and keep them up for the entire season so once you enter you won't be able to leave the same way. It's the most technologically advanced city in Maghreb, but also the most dangerous.
