Janine is taking you on a secret mission to meet an unknown informant calling themselves an Abel Investigator. The rendezvous is set to take place in the basement of nearby Abel Manor. There have been mysterious symbols popping up about Abel Township, suggesting that the serial killer responsible for the "Abel Manor Murders" may be ready to strike again in the next few days.
Janine informs you that she believes the killings aren't the work of one murderer, but a ritual that successive generations of the same family take part in. As you reach the Manor, she notices dismembered zombie parts all over the ground.
There's a heraldic symbol above the door, which Sam says he will research later, and Janine takes a sweep of the ground floor as there are footsteps and the heady scent of decaying flesh. You investigate the boxes near the door, finding a gramophone inscripted with 'Niter Volatile'. Sam rememberes that Abel Manor used to be Rofflenet HQ, and that it belonged to a family with great interest in communication technology. You hear a zombie moan from somewhere and a scream -- you head towards the scream.
You find Jennifer, an amateur criminologist, in the drawing room, barely holding back a horde. You barricade the door, but there's no way out and there are zombies outside now. Luckily, Sam's quick thinking (and pop culture knowledge) means you find a passage behind the fireplace just before the zombies get through the barricade.
You get to the library, but it's no good -- there are zombies at your back and at the door. You clamber up to the mezzanine, where Jennifer finds a tunnel behind a bookcase in the knick of time. There are two people in there already, who tell you the tunnel is secure and leads to the basement vault.
You reach the basement safely, thanks to Rosie and Gina. They introduce you to Matthew, who was once a Reverend. He is the person who sent the letter to meet him there, and is ready to give you information on the murders.
